I am a long time member of the San Diego Surfrider Chapter. Now that i live in Humboldt i want to stay involved with the organization. what can i do to help, is the meeting open to the general public, and finally where would the meeting take place?

Excellent – the San Diegan Surfriders were out in force at the conference. (And, wow, could they party.)
The meeting is open to everyone. As far as location, that and other details are pending. Should be in Arcata, though.
