Hey, that skater looks familiar…

Why, yes! In the green helmet is our very own Surfrider Stacey (aka “Exstacey”) in yesterday’s Humboldt Roller Derby bout.

From the T-S: “With a low-to-the-ground, hunchback style of skating, the Flunkies’ Exstacey dazzled both crowd and teammates when she cut Beauty’s lead to 64-63.”

We knew Stacey could kick ass – now the  rest of the county does, too!

Friday, Sept. 12 Oct. 10: We will hold a meeting to introduce the new board and plans for both now and the future of Surfrider Foundation Humboldt Chapter. It’ll be super fun. Details to follow.

Our status, what we’re doing, plus conference notes

Thanks for your patience.

So, the first thing to know is that due to inactivity, we lost our official connection to Surfrider Foundation a while back. Not anyone’s fault in particular, more a side effect of not having a specific campaign to work on or programs in place. The good news is, everyone wants to fix this problem, including the good folks at the national level.

Surfrider California Chapter Conference teaser

 Working on recruitment. 

Never doubt that a small group of sandal-wearing people saying “dude” can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

(Sorry, Margaret Mead. Couldn’t resist.)

The quick report: utterly inspirational and informative. (And the SF chapter knows how to throw a good party.) I am full of positivity regarding our Humboldt chapter.

But, sharing the details will have to wait, as I returned from SF just in time to leave for Washington (family wedding). Will be back next Tuesday, Aug. 12. Stay tuned for a meeting announcement and further report.
