WaveConnect meeting Feb. 2, 5:30 p.m., Eureka

As most of you know, Surfrider members Bill Lydgate and Scott Willits have been attending PG&E’s working group meetings on behalf of Humboldt Surfrider and keeping us all updated. A general meeting takes place on Feb. 2 (same night as our regular Surfrider meeting!). While we love you to come drink beer with us, we must encourage folks to turn out for the PG&E meeting as decisions are being made about where the wave energy pilot project will go.

Details below, via PG&E’s press release:

Dear Interested Stakeholders:

PG&E will be hosting a public meeting about the proposed Humboldt WaveConnectTM Pilot Project on February 2, 2010. The meeting is being held to:

  • · Provide update information about the Humboldt WaveConnect Pilot Project
  • · Share information about the public engagement, environmental review process, and timeline
  • · Gather feedback from the community on the Humboldt WaveConnect Pilot Project prior to filing the Draft Pilot License Application in late February, 2010
  • · Address questions and gather input for the Humboldt Working Group (HWG) and PG&E to further address

The meeting will be held at the following time and location:

  • Tuesday, February 2, 2010
  • Eureka Veteran’s Hall
  • 1018 H Street, Eureka, CA 95501
  • 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

  1. What time and where is Feb 2nd Surfrider meeting taking place? I’m a new Arcata resident and would love to participate. Thanks!

    • Plaza Grill (in the View Room area), which is on the southwest corner of the Arcata Plaza in Jacoby’s Storehouse, at 6 p.m. We buy two pitchers of beer for the early birds! See you there!
